The YVLA has an attorney on retainer to assist members with landlord/tenant legal questions and problems. Just call his office during regular business hours and identify yourself as a paid member. Free consultations are provided to members in good standing and are limited to phone service. Further services are available at reasonable fees by our attorney who is knowledgeable in Landlord/Tenant Law.
Each new member receives a membership packet containing sample rental forms. Information about what forms are required by law and what forms just make good sense; Fair Housing guidlines; YVLA handbook; screening company referrals, including access from this website to the Unlawful Detainer list of Yakima and Kittitas County; and the latest edition of the monthly YVLA Newsletter.
FREE notary service is available to members during regular business hours in the YVLA office.
Rental forms to help manage your business and protect your interest in your property are available at our office and also on this website. These forms meet landlord and tenant law requirements for both state and federal and have been prepared and/or edited by our attorney and are updated as laws change. We also offer an Unlawful Detainer (eviction) Packet.
YVLA News, a newsletter published monthly, includes new laws, changes in laws, articles regarding landlord related topics, local businesses that offer landlord related services, and general meeting information. Our goal is to keep members informed about meeting times and places, upcoming programs and seminars plus any law changes that affect rental property. Past editions are also available on this website.
This website offers a Rental Search. Our members may advertise their available rentals for prospective tenants to search.
• The YVLA holds monthly general membership dinners and meetings featuring topics and speakers relevant to the rental business.
• General membership meetings also create an opportunity for landlords to network exchanging experiences and ideas.
• Educational seminars are held periodically featuring professional and expert information concerning the rental industry.

The association’s legislative committee monitors and protects your interests at both local and state levels. During election season the YVLA hosts local and regional politicians for question and answer forums regarding landlord issues.
